You may be wondering, where did that come from? And there's something to it!
Well, I recently read an article by Megan Daves, who coordinates an IoT event that takes place in Silicon Valley, which because of the Corona Virus didn't take place, there is another one in London and Amsterdam, which for now, it is not known whether there will be or not. Well, in this article, she mentions the book by Eric Schaeffer, who is a senior director https://aquarelle.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/jornadadapredicao-3.pngistrativo at Accenture and leads the Digital Industry X.0 program with the aim of supporting industrial companies in taking advantage of digital opportunities. The material is all in English, and I'd like to break it down by subject, so to speak.
Industry X.0 divides up all the attributes that are part of Industry 4.0, from which point we list which stage each attribute is at in relation to Industry 4.0 (1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or 4.0?) Have you ever thought about this? This study uses metrics and formulas capable of assessing the value of digital transformation, both at a social and industrial level.
That's why I believe that, as a subject with several chapters, it deserves to be treated with the care and attention it deserves.
In this article, I'm going to tell you more about the main ones, and talking about each one will be the subject of the next articles that follow on from this one. The topics are:
- Change managementThis has nothing to do with the digital transformation itself, with automation, sensorization, nothing, it's the management of how the team is prepared, willing and directed towards change.
- EcosystemThe fact that contracting companies are part of an Ecosystem, which hires solutions and services and also provides its solutions and services, and understanding that everyone is interconnected, changes the way we look at relationships and the way we negotiate, making it more respectful.
Notice that we haven't talked about technology so far!
- Asset management systemIt's not just a maintenance system for opening and closing POs, it must be a system capable of storing all the data on your assets, measuring their age, the amount of maintenance that has already been carried out in their history, making forecasts and planning ahead for those that are to come, and learning the behavior of your assets.
- Infrastructure assessment logical and server networks that the company has, cabling, 3G, 4G, radio, etc. Do you need to expand or retrofit?
- Equipment evaluation which already come from the factory with internal sensors ready to transmit information, but which just aren't activated. Is there a need to increase the amount of equipment?
- Integrated SystemsAre the ERP, purchasing, HR systems, etc. already integrated? Is there a need to integrate and hire additional systems?
See that in all these steps, the ecosystem will be activated!
When this survey is carried out, it will surely unfold on other fronts that are already adherent to the specific business of each segment, be it manufacturing, agribusiness, food, ports, airports, chemicals, hospital automobiles, service, yes service too, because all areas will undergo evolution 4.0.
Industry 4.0
What if you have all of them rated 4.0? Does that mean that the company you work for is already in Industry 4.0? No! Not yet.
Are all the attributes interconnected?
Do they send information to each other?
Is this information collected and stored in an AI platform that processes this data and generates insights for autonomous decisions and actions, or even improving the decision-making of your 4.0 team?
Companies are going to work, and some are already working with small, efficient teams that are trained, committed and prepared to make decisions. Many of them are not directly in the plant, but are in Control Centers, monitoring to improve the plant's efficiency.
In the book, after research, the author states that only 13% of the world's companies are ready for the 4.0 revolution, all the others are at very distant and different stages, often thinking only of putting in a few sensors here and there and having a system for opening maintenance POs and all of them should start there with the first item, start change management and have the leadership very involved and engaged!
